The Glass Cave Project
Origin Story
In the Spring of 2017 I was pregnant with my 2nd child, our first son. I was in the middle of my Masters Degree for Counseling and finishing up my year long internship to become a pastor with my local church. Everything was culminating perfectly. Soon I would be ordained as a minister and my dreams of working alongside my closest friends in ministry would be realized. All of my expectations for life and ministry came crashing into reality when we were suddenly parents of a special needs infant on life support. Benjamin changed everything. For the better.

Benjamin was only with us for 8 days before he was swallowed up by life (1 Corinthians 15:54). In the aftermath of his death I resorted to writing. Sharing my heart, observations , and grief journey was not only therapeutic, but allowed me to remain connected to the world in a season of relative isolation. It was my first experience of disconnecting from the world and reordering our priorities.
Now, seven years later our lives are quite different. We have three children, a house full of legos and magnatiles, and a life cluttered with evening meetings and late night catch-up work. It's amazing, and beautiful, and full. Once again, though, we have been given an opportunity to quiet our calendar and retreat into a season of reflection and connection. For me, this means a time to write. To walk into the cave and allow others to peer in as I allow the Lord to shuffle our priorities again.
